review 1: "Not as seen on TV." This book made me think of how much do I really know about the Borgias and is it true or a gossip? After all a lie told 100 times becomes a truth.../ Dobrze i ciekawie napisana, miło się czyta. Charakter epoki w rozdziałach o tle historycznym oddany w ciekawy sposób. Szczególnie ciekawy dla mnie był fragment poświęcony Cezarowi, niestety o Lukrecji wiadomo niewiele więc stanowi wątek poboczny.
review 2: I borrowed this book from the library and couldn't get through all of it because of other things going on in my life, but hope to get it again and finish it. It's a very heavy book (both literally and figuratively) to read, so it's not recommended if you just want a light, easy-to-read highlight about the family. I've read several ... morebooks about the Borgia family, and this book is a very thorough and balanced accounting of the Borgia family. It's written in very great detail, almost like a text book, so it's not light reading, but because I find the family fascinating I don't mind. less
