review 1: A dark little story told from the perspective of a submissive. It was sort of a little piece of erotica, describing three scenes of really dark BDSM. Not quite too dangerous, but edging towards that. The descriptions felt almost clinical to me. Very mechanical, detached, while the submissive was struggling with his role, his acceptance. The characters I don't believe are named. This stands out among gay writing in being willing to go into dark toy play, especially sounding, in a pretty detailed way. It's described as if by someone with experience. But it doesn't really develop characters, romance, a story, a world, or erotic feelings much. I liked it, but I didn't think it was really a story, something to read.
review 2: There was a "M-o-o-a-n-n" and a "main of
... more hair" - annoying moments like that which made me wonder if this had any kind of editorial pass. I just took a second pass at it & upped it a star b/c well, yes, some of the vignettes were hot, but you gotta be okay with used condoms getting tossed around. There is an ick factor. The memory of reading this wasn't a good one. I remember being annoyed at the end by spelling & other editorial problems. I've had some wine since & loosened up with tonight's refresh. less
