review 2: Throughout the book you want to be there to protect the author while she is going through abuse by her father. Frustr... moreating to think that so many women are still going through this kind of situation - a father who is a religious tyrant. Sad that teachers and neighbors did not know and intervene. Very frightening to read how strongly men control women in other cultures and how empowering that the author was brave enough to make a better life for herself against the odds. less
