Tonight we celebrated Diwali with the best neighbours in town. Our street, Tiverton, is a mecca. Literally, if a house comes up for sale, people act quicker than when someone says last call.
It’s a dead end.
We have a park.
And every other house there are kids.
But more importantly, for us bigger kids, there’s other adults you actually want to hang out with (vs. are forced to hang out with because your kids are friends).
I love Tiverton. So much so, that I made up a bed time song for Ruby called the Tiverton Gang. It even has it’s own hashtag on Instagram #TivGang.
And tonight, Tiverton taught me and my 4 year old about Diwali. The festival of lights. Our neighbours opened their arms and welcomed us into their culture. Their celebrations. And their hearts.
I love you Tiverton. Where have you been all my life
