review 1: You would expect such a book to be superficial and certainly it doesn't have exhaustive detail on all aspects of the Civil War. But what it covers is well researched with great amount of fascinating detail. This is becoming a trend, for museums to make their collection available for photographs of events but it is one I must say I like. What a great way to make the treasures of the institution available to many people outside of New York City, or the British Museum outside of London! Got to go, hopefully will add more later, but this was excellent reading!
