review 1: Not much drama or angst here, just two normal people exploring the boundries of Robin's kink. Robin is a submissive looking for a dominant, but is not having any luck finding a compatible partner. Unbeknownst to her, John, her best friend, is a dominant. They get together and decide to try a few scenes to see what she likes. Of course they start to develop romantic feelings for each other and eventualy become a couple. Robin and John both knew who they were and what they liked. I could tell they were friends.
review 2: Fabulous strong female character who is an intelligent archivist by day and a "picky submissive" looking for guidance by night? Check. An equally strong tattooed, smart male character - and not white! - who knows what he enjoys and isn't af
... moreraid to go for it? Check? A solid relationship already established, allowing them to develop and explore their attraction in a hot and fun fashion? Check. I enjoyed this one, mainly because it avoided a lot of the tropes we find in most BDSM novellas these days. Also appreciated - the older Dom character, the idea that sometimes things don't work out the way you expect and that not all families are open and accepting of character flaws (in this case, the drug addicted sibling and the ostrich parents). I'll look for more from this pair of authors. less
