review 1: I won this book from a giveaway by the author. The premise is based on a dystopian Indian country set in the future. It sounded unique, so I decided to enter to win a copy. It was pretty good. The story is told from the two main characters-one in verse and the other in prose. I enjoyed the story, but it felt really open ended. Maybe that was the intention but I still felt as if the story and some characters could have been fleshed out more and an epilogue would have brought some closure. I'm glad I gave the book a try.
review 2: I liked this one a lot. First, the cover is GORGEOUS. Second, it has non-white characters and the plot has nothing to do with race. Third, it's well-edited--it doesn't drag despite the dystopian- arranged-marriage plot line. Fourth, it
... more is original. I enjoyed taking the opposite view of gender roles, and I enjoyed the verse/prose alternations more than I thought I would. But the reason for the 4, not 5, stars is that it wasn't original enough. I wanted a bit more. Also, the ending was a bit open ended, which I liked...but also made me wonder if there will be a book 2. less

This cover is stunning. I'd buy 5 to 1 for its cover alone, but the book itself sounds amazing.
