review 1: This fun story is about a child's first day of kindergarten! But is he nervous? Not as nervous as his mother! He spends the entire book trying to comfort his mother before he leaves for his very first day at school.This story is a fun read aloud for kindergartners. Children can relate to this boy as they head to their first day at school. It gives them a new way to look at going to school.
review 2: This is NOT a good first day of school book if your child is anxious about going to school. It's written from the perspective of the mother being nervous about her son going, saying she's afraid she'll forget to pack his lunch, or that they'll be late and he'll miss the bus, etc. All the while, the child is reassuring her. I'm sure this book would appeal to some kid... mores, but for mine, it would have just introduced more stuff for him to be nervous about. I was SO glad I did a pre-read! less
