review 1: As soon as i read the first book of this series, i was HOOKED. if your into the sort of paranormal, romance kinda stuff then this is the book for you! i cant remember what book this is in the series but its obviously good since i read at least three books of The Mackinnon Curse. as soon as i started to read it i couldent put the book down(or phone in my case). one more paragraph turned into one more page, then chapter, then eventually i was at the point where i was saying "just one more book!". the only case in which i do not recommend this book is if you are sensitive to the topics of paranormal entities, self harm, and or your scared easily. i dont understand why this series is so very unpopular, its something that needs to be read more by people with interests such as m... morey own. it was also interesting to explore Scotland along with Riley ( main character) as she moves. it got me interested in the history of scotland and its old castles. the book pulled me in and had me wanting more with every single page turn. it keeps you interested and relates to alot of teens on a personal level as you go through high school with Riley and the other characters in this book. it introduces things that many teens deal with at this age and shows how Riley overcame theese things while still having an interesting story line.
review 2: This book was very insightful in terms of the history behind so much in The Deepest Cut (first book in the series). Templeton does a fantastic job of creating a believable back story, or misplaced love, jealously, and evil. The characters were great, their back stories enhancing prior knowledge to the series. It made me feel like I really knew them. I felt emotions with them, their anxiety, love. It's a short, for those who have read at least the first novel in the series. It may be really great for someone who has not, giving them a sense of whether they will enjoy the series or not. All in all, it's a great back story, better than what I could have imagined for Ian, being well written and captivating. less
