review 1: Anna and her nephew Joesph are flung 164 years into the past. In Ireland, in the year 1844. One year before the great potato famine. They wake up 70 miles apart on beaches, almost dead. They both travel different paths to find their future. This story has wonderful characters, lots of sadness and confusion. It isn't the same type of time travel I've read before, but it was a good story. At the end I was left with sadness at things not finished, for the characters, and me.
review 2: I loved her other two books and was anxious to read this one. This is a story of a family facing several issues: a brother in a serious car accident, a nephew in trouble with the law, and the sister who is at the center. The sister and her nephew are suddenly transported back to 184
... more4 Ireland and the story takes off from there. It was interesting on many levels, especially, for me, reading about life then. They both have many adventures and both fall in love but end up time traveling back to present time. I enjoyed the story a lot. Note to dog lovers: her other two books have dogs as central characters and although this one is "advertised" (on the book cover) as a dog story,it's not. An Irish Wolfhound plays a very small role in the story. However, even though I'm a major dogaholic, this story is good. less

3.5 I got bogged down in the middle of this one, but glad I picked it back up to finish it.
