review 1: I'm struggling to rate this one. On the one hand, I loved the story. On the other I found it being bogged down in a lot of places and this through me out of it.The characters were great. Very multi-dimensional, you could "feel" what they were feeling and doing. Even though there were a lot of characters involved in this book, it was easy keeping track of them all, which is no mean feat to write.Where things kept getting bogged down were all the medical procedures, terminology and all of that. I understood most of them, because of my nursing background, but I think that without that knowledge, even though the explanations where fantastic, this would have been way more than a lot of people would understand. And, personally, I don't think all that info was necessary. It slowe... mored the story down most of the time and I didn't feel it added a lot to the whole. But as I said, that is my opinion only.Other than that, I absolutely loved the writing of this author and I hope he gives us more very soon. I'd love to read more from Jake Wells.
review 2: I absolutely loved everything about this story. The characters were wonderful and lovable. The dialogue was so real as to draw me right into the situations. The humor had me laughing out loud much of the time. The pathos (especially Zack's relationship with Christopher and Yogi) brought copious tears. The romance between Zach and Sergio was exciting without graphic sex scenes but rather allusions to them. Zack's grappling with his acceptance of self as a gay man was reminiscent of my own experience. You just simply don't want to miss this book. less

DNFAll talk, no show - read more like an essay than a novel.
