review 1: I actually enjoyed this book after I figured out what was going on. The Lord in question is not mad but SICK! And you don't even need many pages with him to tell that. I loved Mel's story and want to know what happened to the two gentlemen and their sisters who were invited to the country house. Just FYI: nowhere can I see that this is a series but at the end it says if you missed the first book in the series. I think it was When a Duke says I do. And there is a third about one of the house guests.
review 2: Very controversial villain, Melissa's real father - the Duke - wanted to be her lover. The hair sniffing scene was very creepy but drove home the reason why Melissa's Mother and her husband hid her all her life.I loved John, he was a great understanding her
... moreo. Not many man in his place would help Melissa overcome her fears as he did. I even liked Charles and felt a bit sorry for him. He stood by his choice to marry Melissa even if it was against what he believed, that all bastards are beneath him.John's father falling in love was a hoot since he was against the feeling the entirety of the book. less
