review 1: I can't help but think that if I'd read this when I was a teenager, or at least before "TOB for Beginners" by Chris West, I would have given it 4 or 5 stars. I do feel that it could have gone a little softer on the repetition of the same ideas and the same scriptures, and a little heavier on the practical application, but that's just me. Of course, it's only about 85 pages, so that may be asking a bit much.At some point, I'll probably end up feeling bad because I love the Everts, and upping it by a star, so there's that :P
review 2: This was just an okay read but I gave it 3 stars for effort. I admire the author's attempt at helping adolescents connect with their spiritual side and also how important it is to develop a relationship with God. However, I think... more the book falls a little short on practical advice and relies heavily on some flowery passages from the bible that might be over the heads of many adolescents. I do plan on letting my children read it but I will be following them closely. I even wrote in the margins and overused my pink highlighter.... less
