review 1: J. C. Nelson flips the Fairy Godmother trope by have the main character a debt slave to a Fairy Godfather working off her younger sister's miricle. There are princesses and princes involved along with gnomes, werewolves, romantic shenanigans, and evil Fair Godmothers. In the end, Marissa Locke manages to drag home her own prince and save the Fairy Godfather's business. Will have to see how the series develops, but this is a decent start.
review 2: I read this one quickly, so for me that means pacing was good and it kept my interest. The premise is fun for an urban fantasy. I kept getting Evanovich vibes from the comments of the characters, primarily the main character, for me a definite plus. But the plot itself wasn't as slap-sticky, also a plus for me. All
... more in all, if you're looking for a different twist on UF that involves fairy tale characters gone bad, this is a good choice. less
