review 1: I always stay away from books that feature an addict as a main character. The agoraphobic character piqued my interest to the point that I just had to read When One Door Opens. There is a man in this book that is so frightened of something he refuses to go outside. That same man has some nature of debilitating disorder that he refuses to leave his apartment. I just had to go into this book to see how he manages his problems and meet a man to fall in love with. I mean there has to be a good story there, and there is.I don’t believe in second chances. Lucky for Logan, Caleb does. Logan is fresh out of prison, not jail. Logan did not get arrested for a drunken bar brawl. Logan went to prison for doing some serious damage. He is an alcoholic with anger management problems. H... moree is also trying to get a hold of his life. He knows he has wronged and he wants to be a better person. He is following all of his parole conditions as closely as he possibly can. The line has been drawn and he is walking it.Taking deliveries from his uncle’s employees is nothing new to Caleb. Trying to manipulate the deliverers to do things his way is something Caleb has a lot of practice at. Caleb feels the safest in his home without the interference of outsiders. The huge hulk of a sexy man that is Logan is the outsider that refuses to let Caleb do everything his way. Logan is a force that Caleb never expected. Reading these two men stumble around their messes is solid entertainment. They both want the same exact thing. They want each other to heal, but they don’t want to be the one that heals the other. Caleb wants to be the support that Logan needs while he keeps on track. Logan wants Caleb to see that his coping methods truly aren’t working. This worked for me. I was so pleased that Ruskin didn’t make love the thing that fixed Caleb and Logan. The struggles that these men faced were realistic and consistent. From the very beginning I wanted these men to figure out how to make their relationship work. Great read!
