review 1: I received this book free as a part of a Goodreads giveaway. Tales From Little Lump-Alien Season is a short story about people in a little town called Little Lump that happens to be invaded by UFO's and, of course, aliens. The main protagonist in this book is Gertie who owns a store that isn't doing very well. Gertie is an absolutely hilarious character and I would love for there to be an Aunt Gertie in my family. For such a short book, there was a lot of times where I was literally "laughing out loud". This book would've been great if there wasn't an alien "invasion" (if you read the book, you'll know why I put the quotations around invasion). The dialogue between Gertie, his son, his brother, his nephew, Gene, etc. kept me entertained throughout the entire story. I would... more love to read another short story from Jeff Folschinsky, seeing as this book had me giggling like a little school girl. lol :)
review 2: What happens in a small town when the government plans a first contact with aliens there, but doesn't let the local community in on it. First comment has to be I love the cover! Received on Friday, had full days planned with no time to read on Fri & Sat, but the cover nagged me to open the book. Oh my, I haven't giggled this much or this often in a long time. This is one of those books that make you sneak away from family with some lame excuse just to read another 2 pages. Thank you so much for the book, I will be re-reading this one! Gertie is my new heroine! I highly recommend getting your hands on this book. less

A funny example of what can happen if the government tries to keep too many secrets about aliens!
