review 1: Great book, easy, fast read. I loved the book, but I have to say that hearing Jeff tell the story in his own voice on the Mormon Moments podcast was just as or even more powerful than reading it in the book. He also told another anecdote about an experience his younger brother Justin had when Jeff was first brought into the hospital-- an experience that wasn't included in the book. The only thing I wish had been included was more of Spencer's experience. I realize this was Jeff's story, but I wanted ti know what had happened to spencer during those critical times as well...
review 2: Quick read. I am the opposite of some of the reviewers who gave this 3 or less stars due to the over the top Mormon references in this book. As a member of the church, I actual
... morely felt there was very little reference to the church. In fact, I felt that he was definitely trying to write this to a wider audience than those of his faith. I am sure he still had to go through a lot of heartache and soul searching to write this book and his experience is horrific and heartbreaking. Something no one would want to endure. I am not going to lie but after all the love in here for Tamara and Griffin, I was a little disappointed at the quick remarriage. Not that I am downplaying his current happiness and wouldn't want him to have that. But, (I could be completely wrong here) from the picture he put in the book...to a non member or someone who was inactive. I know this sounds so judgmental but when Jeff had the experience of actually feeling God's presence and then to do that, I was a bit let down. I for one, wouldn't want to be the one to go through this life with the one I love, only to give him up at the end to someone else. I had a hard time wrapping myself around this. Maybe this is how Jeff wants it. Who knows and maybe I should just keep my mouth shut? less

I heard this man speak about his experience, but wanted to read his book as well. I enjoyed both.
