review 1: It was a good concept, and the story was very captivating, but the characters didn't seem very realistic, and some plot developments were rather predictable, though not super far in advance (as in I would get a feeling that something big was going to happen, or that something was wrong, but either it didn't occur right away, or I just didn't know what it actually was). I kept expecting more to happen, and the big discovery that happens at the end to happen earlier, so that the story follows the Hero's Journey format, but it doesn't. The whole thing is about her discovery about herself and her family, which I guess was still very well written and a nice story, just not what I was expecting.
review 2: 4 1/2 stars. This book has a very interesting plot and it wa
... mores well written. I thought the idea was really unique. But Logan. Just. Ugh. Logan, at first I liked him but then after Cass told him about "The Mark" I thought he was a bit annoying how he kept pushing her to rotary and warn everyone when she didn't have the strength to do it. But Jack. I totally call dibs man. Right when he came in, literally when it first mentioned him I instantly knew I liked him. And I'm so glad that when Cass came back he said he wanted to catch up. Can't wait to find out what happens with them in the second book !!! less

The story seemed too slow sometimes and I didn't like how casual it was about casual sex.
