review 1: Sequels are iffy for me, as it's difficult (in my opinion) to match or even top the first. But this one made me feel so many emotions. The beginning was a little rocky for me, as I was put-off by Emily's reaction in Russia, but as the book continued, things started falling into place. I couldn't put it down. Her reaction to the situation became justifiable, and I went from being put-off by her to hurting for her, and I seriously wanted to throttle Elena more than once. Sergei is just awesome, always so understanding and patient, and let me tell you, his reaction to Emily's decision toward the end almost brought me to tears. You know the author has talent when she can make you feel so many varying emotions in one book. The supporting characters are great too. I loved the di... morealogue between Chris and Emily--I really liked how Comeaux has differentiated each character, making them seem real. I'd love to read their stories as well. Edge of the Past did not disappoint!
review 2: This book, to me, was all about the relationship and struggles Emily and Sergei face after coming home from Russia with some unexpected baggage, rather than the aspects of figure skating. I'm not saying it diminished the plot-line in anyway, rather it gave us drama and excitement, and since the last book was all about getting to the Olympics, unlike this one where they are just in the competitions, the lack of competitions isn't really missed much. I'm still confused as to the timeline of the book but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. less
