review 2: 3.8/5I’ve had this book for a while now and I’ve been wanting to read it ever since I read the premise. Still though, the outright answer to the question, “Do you believe in love at first sight?” was and still is, a no. So, I guess that presumption carried over to the book. I felt detached reading it. Maybe because it all happened just in
... moreone day so the connection and understanding with the characters isn’t that strong yet. Or maybe it’s the fact that I’m still not over the world of Harry Potter after finally finishing the books after some time. It’s a cutesy book, there’s no argument in that. It made me feel GV after. It’s a good feeling especially since HP books just make you feel dreaded or excited about the next installment or what generally would happen next. Still though, I probably might’ve liked it better if they didn’t end up together.Oliver is charming, that’s for sure. Hadley seems like a nice character too: sweet and not the annoying typical damsel in distress female character. She’s strong and different, somehow. She knows what she wants and she’s not afraid of speaking her mind. I don’t know. Maybe it’s the lack of affinity toward their love story that I wanted it to have a different ending. Or maybe, simply the fact that I didn’t believe in the existence of love at first sight. But beyond the love story, the book amused and touched me because of its family aspect. The relationship of Hadley with her mom and dad separately were what made me feel connected to her. I sympathized with her more through those stories. I feel like somehow, the bridging of her relationship with her father was more of the highlight of the book than anything else. But that’s just for me. less

A good novel for hopeless romantics, such as myself. It's an easy read, especially for someone who hasn't finished reading a book voluntarily for years. It's a cute romantic story of how things don't always turn out the way you expect them to. Sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes it isn't. But, in their own way, things work themselves out.Next time I have a flight, I expect an Oliver to sit beside me during the flight.
