review 1: "He was an artist who perceived himself as a businessman...still, money was never his main focus...the point was learning, being responsible and appreciating life's gifts" (138). Jennifer Grant's memoir is a lovely read full of personal anecdotes, ideals and childhood perceptions. Through Miss Grant, avid fans and admirers of Cary Grant get a new glimpse into the beloved actor's world. What she does best, however, is provide insight into what it means to be a daughter and father and the Tory is beautifully told. Thought the writing may not be the most sophisticated, it is honest and I can appreciate that on many levels.
review 2: A thoroughly enjoyable book. Loved how Jennifer wrote about her father and his love for her. Some people say that older people sho
... moreuldn't have children, but this book proves all of them wrong. Since Cary Grant had already lived his life he was able to dedicate his time to his daughter. Jennifer benefited from having a father who was retired and was financially independent so that he could dedicate his time to her. She describes her father as being fun loving and a good person who also taught his daughter the value of money despite the fact they had so much. less
