review 1: After reading Jennifer Traig's other book "Devil in the Details," and now this, I'm pretty sure she's my long-lost twin sister. In fact, the similarities between us are so astonishing that I'm not entirely convinced that she is not me. I am so much of a hypochondriac that, even though Traig kept me in stitches (not literally) with her hilarious writing, she also kept me running to the Internet between every chapter to see if I had the disease she had just mentioned.
review 2: this was a perfectly pleasant memoir about lots of random stuff. it's billed as a memoir of hypochondria, though, which it discusses in some chapters but ignores in others. it seems like maybe traig sold it as a hypochondria memoir and then it became something else during the writing and
... more no one had the energy or desire to re-focus it. a memoir of hypocondria is a lot easier to sell and market than a memoir loosely gathered around the theme of hypochondria. i would recommend reading devil in the details, traig's previous memoir which really was very much about OCD, before reading this one. less
