review 1: I really liked this book! The descriptions of anxiety and physical pain were so vivid. The story opens up with Maja realizing she accidentally chopped off a bit of her thumb, and that injury is such a big part of the story that I honestly started to feel phantom pains in my own thumb (heebie jeebies). There were also some scenes that were undeniably sexy while still being extremely awkward. Most of all this book was funny, I found myself laughing out loud multiple times over both the trouble Maja got herself into and the wording. In all the seriousness of trying to figure out what was going on with her mother (who was mysteriously missing) Maja was just this accident prone kid wrapped up in her own head. She wasn't entirely responsible and it made sense to me.I listened to... more the author talk about the book on the podcast Allt vi säger är sant before reading. She tried not to give the story away too much, but even without spelling it out I understood what was going on with the mother just from the descriptions. It didn't take away from the story, though. As with most young adult literature it was very much about the lack of communication between kids and adults. Trying to piece things together in order to better understand parents. That point when you don't just see them as mom and dad but as people, possibly with a diagnosis that explains all their weirdness.
review 2: boken var okej. handlingen var lite för konstig för att jag skulle kunna realtera till den och tycka om den. men huvudkarakären var bra, eller ja hon var lite cool och stod upp för sig själv och så men annars var boken ganska trist.det känns lite som om författaren försöker kopiera någon annans sätt att skriva på. typ hon som skrev linas kvällsdagbok eller eddies dagsbok. och resultatet är inte ens hälften så bra. less
