review 1: I had to FIGHT my way through this book. Yep, this Amish fiction book was THAT bad. I never got invested in the characters and I wound up caring less about what happened to her. AND then there is the Amish family so consumed by inheriting money that turned me off. I am not saying that Amish are not like us...but the way they acted turned me off. This is a pretty short book but I couldn't bring myself to read it. I think I worked on it for over a freaking week. Yeah. That bad.
review 2: When I think of an Amish novel being written, I think of a female author writing them. But that's not the case with this amazing story. It is written by a male author with a fabulous knack for writing Amish stories. The first in a trilogy, Rebecca's Promise is full of page turning
... more, riveting scenes. I found myself completely captured by the Amish characters. They quickly became a part of me, which is what I love to have happen when I read a great Amish novel! It's plot is twisty;full of secrets, promises, confusion and inspiration. One that I didn't want to end, but knew it had to and can't wait for part 2 to Rebecca's riveting, hopeful story!I give this 5 stars (more if I could!), two thumbs up and definite recommendation to all! *This book was provided for review courtesy of Harvest House Publishers* less
