review 1: What do you want to be when you grow up?I Can Be Anything! by Jerry Spinelli captures the pure jolt and joy of life! Color, energy, and inspiration spill off the pages!I forget sometimes that we can be anything we want in life. How do we forget that? From moment to moment and day to day—we can do and be anything. We can be "bubble gum poppers, cheek to cheek grinners, or deep-hole diggers"! And we can be all of these things at once. Don’t let the world put one label or job title on you. Be everything and anything you want all at once! This beautiful, colorful, inspiration of a book will remind readers of all ages that life is filled with possibilities! Endless hope and possibilities!I needed the reminder, so thank you very much Mr. Spinelli. I forget sometimes t... morehat I am an ambidextrous, leaf pile jumper with a book in one hand and a bubble wand in the other! :DWhat are you?
review 2: This story follows a little boy who wants to be everything! From bubble gum popper, to gift un-wrapper, and deep-hole digger to puppy dog holder, they all sound like so much fun, he can’t decide what he wants to do when he grows up! With rhymes and adorable pictures, this story is a charming and funny way to show children all the possibilities life has to offer, and that if they can dream it, they can do it! I Can Be Anything would be a great story to read to a younger audience because of the entertaining rhymes, vibrant pictures, and simple language. The story also has a very inspiration message that young children should be told- that the possibilities of what they can become and achieve are endless! It would be a great activity to have the children come up with their dreams and aspirations of what they would like to become when they grow up, and to read this story so they can understand that they can do more than one thing in their lives because of the different opportunities that are presented. This book presents a very important concept for students to learn and be told at a young age, and could even be told in older grades as well.Spinelli, J. (2010). I can be anything!.
