review 1: Despite a somewhat scattered plot, it was a fun story. I enjoyed the non-traditional heroine with her irrepressible mouth. The hero struck me as a bit of a self-pitying kill-joy but he showed signs of geting over it.The concept is one I've seen before: a group of chosen part-demon warriors trying to hold back the apocalypse. But Jessa Slade pulls off some interesting characters and an enjoyable plot to put it in.A fun light read for the weekend.
review 2: Someone sent me a copy of this book that they won through a contest and I was so excited to get started on it. This is a really great series that has fantastic romance, adventure and drama to it. The main character in this book is Jonah Walker, who is still trying to deal with his loss that happened in the ... moreprevious book. He feels that his mate is out there and he finds an unlikely woman who is supposed to walk into battle with him. Her name is Nim, and she's a stripper. Nim is everything Jonah has trouble accepting, her lack of faith and her ability to tempt those out of innocence but he can't help his attraction to her. Together they have to move past their own sins to help save the city from things more evil than themselvesI really enjoy these books because they are quick and entertaining reads. This book felt a little edgier and sexier than the rest, I'm not sure if it's because I love Jonah and have been waiting for his book, or if the author is moving in a different direction. Whatever the reason, I definitely loved this book and can't wait for the next installment. Hopefully it's about Echo! less
