review 1: I admit that some parts of this book was steamy and kind of hot, but I also admit that I was little disappointed in this book. I thought Kael was naive (not that that was a bad thing), and when coupled with his sudden development of amorous feelings towards his captor, I knew the story will unfortunately end in the predictable manner as many other erotic M/M fantasy novels do. On a good note, I think Knowles succeeded if her goal was to titillate her readers with hot, BDSM-themed, man-on-man loving. **WARNING: SPOILER** On another note, Taren really likes nipples (pg. 34).
review 2: This was a pretty average slave fiction. It falls into the same trap that many of them do focusing so much on the sex that I have very little connection to the characters. It was
... moreat time frustrating that it seems like the book is going to have a plot or some good character interaction outside of the bed room then we are side tracked back into cocks and asses. There was a plot of with assassinations and ex lovers but it never really felt fully developed and to easily solved. Kael also puts aside his past as a prince fairly easily that it feels to rushed and convenient. If your looking for a mildly entertaining slave fiction with some light BDSM then this is a good book but not so good if you are looking for something more. less
