review 1: In thirty-five essays, Jim Norton entertains readers with his own "emotional vomiting" on all of the people he detests. You definitely need to be current with pop culture, or have the ability to google individuals (I needed to wikipedia a few) in order to understand Norton's references. Some of the individuals that made Norton's "I hate your guts" list are the following: Heather Mills, Reverend Al Sharpton, Starbucks employees, Steve Martin, Hillary Clinton, John Sterling (I had to google him), Al Roker, Dr. Phil, Keith Olbermann, K-Fed, and Jesse Jackson. At the end of each chapter, Norton gives suggestions on how these individuals can redeem themselves in his eyes. This books is NOT for the easily offended! Norton is blunt and so brutally honest in this book....However o... moren more than one occasion, he met the people in this book that he complains about, and didn't have the GUTS to say anything. I love being entertained by a comedian as much as the next person, and Norton is funny. However, in a book about hating other's guts, one would think Norton would have the guts to be as painfully fun as he is in the book to the people he bashes to their faces...I have enjoyed his segments on Jay Leno, and his few movie appearances; however, I am not sure I would read another one of his books.
