review 1: This is my review after immediately finishing the book: After reading previous reviews I knew I'd have to be in the mood for a tear jerker when I started reading this but I wasn't prepared for this. It was like crying at a damn movie. Omg I can't get over this. My heart is just broken lol. I actually felt my heart break I think lol. It was an amazing book and I HATED the ending lol. WTH. READ IT. AMAZING. I totally contradicted myself but I can't help it lol. This is my review after waking up the next morning: I am either a total loser who is still depressed and heartbroken over this book or JM is a really good fucking author. I woke up this morning getting ready for work and all of a sudden it's like my brain flashed to what happened in the book and I think I felt my heart... morebreak again. Why did I read this book damn it!! :) fucking amazing book.
review 2: I'm not quite sure what to make of his book, the beginning was really good and it only got better till about the last 3rd of the book which was just a let down particularly the ending. I have read many books where that has happened to one of the main characters but I don't think I've ever had an aftermath that was so dull and lifeless, you didn't get to see the struggle Sadie had afterwards or found out what happened it was just a year later she missed him and was ready to move on. That's what spoiled it for me when you connect with your characters it for the good and the bad but in the end she might as well have killed all the characters as the book was ruined for me as that was no ending. if she wanted to do that to Landon then that's fine but it can't just finish like that. I'm not so much annoyed of what happened to him it was more of the abrupt ending where everything was ok and all rounded up in about 2 pages, I can get that idea on a cliff hanger where you find out later what happens to the characters but that simply is not the case it just finished just like that, it's like writing a long essay and doing a 4 line conclusion without rapping up nicely and getting the point of the writing across but that simply not the case. Most stories have a meaning behind them whether going through the tribulations of drugs, overcoming heartbreak or abuse, even the most far fetched sci fi fantasy ones have a method behind them to show with their story like a person fight to survive or overcome obstacles. but I just didn't get that with this book, maybe perhaps initially there was overcoming a heartbreak but in the end it was just left and didn't show the characters will to live and survive which is what Landon told her to do it just simply jumped to the bit where she had survived and had gotten on with life like it was all hunky dory. I know sometimes when reading you might think "oh I can't believe this is happening" and want to get to the bit where the characters are happy or content but its through the trials and tribulations where the reader connects most with the characters particularly in this type of book but with this one it just ended and was done and so was the idea of this been one of my favourites as there was just no ending for me as I think the author may have forgot that part. less
