review 1: I loved this book. There were a few things that I didn't like but they never out weighed all the things I loved. Tuck ,aka Amelia Tucker, is a bad ass. She can beat anyone in a fair fight. She has a military back ground, she has been in combat and she can handle her own. Not only has she fought her way through war zones, but she has also fought her way through child hood. She had an abusive father, who did nothing but drink and hurt her. In her mind she was worthless,to tall, to ugly and not wanted. Some people get tired of the tough girl who can kick ass and take name. I do not. I love them. Especially in a book like this. It begins in 2005 and Tuck is a bodyguard for a young scientist. Some how, while on a vacation with her charge, she falls into a water fountain and hit... mores her head.Soon after she realizes she isn't where she was before she fell. She meets up with a couple guys, realizes she is in the year 1584 AND, of course, falls in love with the Colin MacLean.I love Colin MacLean. I did a lot of smiling when it came to Tuck and Colin's arguments. Obviously, back in 1584, a woman didn't fight. She most definitely didn't talk back and not listen to the Laird of the Keep either! But Tuck was just that kind of woman, and I loved reading about it! I have always loved time travel, and I have always loved highlanders. It is a weakness... can't be helped. There are no AA meetings for this type of addiction. Even if there were, you can only change the willing ;). With that said, if you love highlanders, romance and time travel you must give this book a shot. I loved it and I am happy I finally dusted this book off and opened the pages. I have had it stashed way too long, always putting it behind another book I was so excited to read.
review 2: That was surrealistic but so funny. Amelia is a strong heroine who doesn't try to blend in the sixteen's century, she stays herself (she doesn't know how to do otherwise), and no one knows what to do when faced with a female warrior (and a good one). Colin is loyal, he tries to do what is the best for his clan, but can't help being attracted to the strange woman who doesn't act like a woman must behave. Of course each one thinks not to be worthy enough of the other at one point, but that doesn't take all the story. The secondary characters are enjoyable even though the plot is light, and I look forward to read he sequel. less

Entertaining, time travel, a good read although a bit on the Harlequin side for me.
