review 1: I love period pieces and this series delivers. Provoked, the first book in the Enlightenment series, introduces the reader to the main characters, David Lauriston and Lord Murdo Balfour. Of course the initial meeting, neither were aware (nor did they care) about their social status. As the story unfolds, Chambers captures the imagination allowing the reader to experience the various emotional and physical constraints involved with men loving men in this time period. I could not wait to read the next book in the series...

David and his black and white moral compass were such a breath of fresh air and Belfour and his intensity was hot! I wou... moreld have been disappointed with any other ending for this book. it was so fitting. I look forward to reading the next one in the series though to see how they progress. . less
