review 1: Absolutely captivating! I was hooked from page one! Joanna Wiebe wove an intense, fast-paced, creepy tale. She wove clues throughout the novel but keeps the reader guessing until the very end! I didn't guess the ending and I had to turn back to page one and reread the novel to pick up on all of Joanna Wiebe's sly hints to solving the mystery. This novel was based on a unique idea and I cannot wait for book 2 to be published! I recommended this to some of my high school students, who also loved it!
review 2: I am so on the fence about this book. On one hand I am quite intrigued by the mysterious and creepy aura that the author portrayed giving the setting an eerie feel. On the other some of the characters were farfetched. I did not love the fact that t... morehe reader or Anne was kept in the dark the entire book. The plot was good, the follow through was good, the ending felt rushed. The slow buildup could have been fast as it crept along and some of the characters served no purpose for me. All in all it was ok. less
