review 1: Posted on Romancing the Book blogReviewed By~DesereReview Copy Provided By~self purchasedWhat is better than coming home and re-finding the true love of your life … NOTHING, especially if that love is one seriously hot cowboy. But what happens when that one special love is no longer the type to follow you around or hang on every word you say. Not to mention he is no longer the non-hot kind; in fact he is super yummy (in that stunning way that just Joanne Kennedy can write them). Lacey is on the run from her crooked ex and his murderous business partners. All she has going for her is the hope that her former love and friend Chase will help her get through it. So begins the action and passion-packed story of riveting romance and a second chance love like no other.Joanne K... moreennedy has a way with words and cowboys. She intertwines the lives of Chase and Lacey so strongly that it felt as if I was emotionally connected to the book and actually living the life of Lacey. This was the third Joanne Kennedy book for me and again I was not disappointed. There was not one dull moment, not one moment that it got uninteresting or too overwritten. I especially loved how the author brought the past of Lacey and Chase into focus with the criminal background.I look forward to the next one Joanne!
review 2: My Review:When you are in the mood for a bit of small-town cowboy loving, this is a great choice. This book was entertaining and fun to read. Lacey is running. It turns out her ex-husband was a crook with friends in high places. Now that friends think that she's the key to keeping them all from going to jail with them. By threatening her, maybe they can stay safe. So Lacey runs to the one place where she thinks no one from Tennessee will look for her...Wyoming and the boy that she left behind when she got married. They were never in a relationship, but that doesn't mean that Chase's heart wasn't broken when, 3 days after they graduated, Lacey ran off and got married. To add fuel to the fire, her husband was responsible for the loss of his family's ranch and his father's suicide. So when Lacey comes looking to him for help, he's not exactly inclined to give it to her.Chase has had a lot of years to build up his bitterness towards Lacey and life in general. I liked watching his personal growth throughout this novel as he realized where he is heading...towards become a bitter old man all alone like his neighbor Galt. Galt added so much depth to this story. I loved his gruff and cantankerous manners even at the end. I also really liked the addition of Pam (Chase's sister) and Cody (Pam's boyfriend) and what they added to the story. It's just a great story. There were moments when I was literally laughing out loud and moments where it was just so sweet. Overall, just a fantastic contemporary read! less
