review 1: It makes me sick that there are people out there in this world who can treat children the way that this little boy was treated. This is a great read about the affects that abusive situations can have on the victims and also about the psychological issues that come with it. Although it was a great read and had me thinking about things, I feel that it did not move as fast as I would have liked it too and in places things were repeated and information that was not necessarily needed was given. Overall a good read, especially for anyone who works in this field.
review 2: I rate it 3 stars not because it was poorly written, but because of the story itself. It was heartbreaking, difficult, still, we need to know this kind of things happened to someone ( WHY? ) and to... more try to help or prevent such hideous things to happen to anyone.Like many others, I'd liked for those monsters to pay for what they did, but I guess unless you've been under such circumstances, we can't possibly get what was going on inside Joe not to do so. less
