review 1: Poignant, haunting, addictive and a real page turner. The three protagonists were all delightfully troubled, with a dark misery in them that seemed to light the book up. A very thought-provoking story that strokes the border of something remarkably twisted. It was very poetic almost, every word, every sentence was succinct yet just enough. John Brandon has a way with words that I’ve not seen in a very, very long time. Absolutely beautiful.
review 2: This is a book I have complicated feelings for, it was very odd and very unpredictable. Full of surprises. It liked that but some of it was just plain weird and there didn't seem to be many explanations for why the character did what he did. It was a very gripping book as a whole and I liked the fact it was out of
... more the ordinary and not just a story about teenagers falling in love like you often find. But I did not find the main character Toby lovable and that was a shame because if I did I probably would have enjoyed this book a lot more and that was why I gave it three stars as I am not sure how I feel about this story. less

Florida: weirdness, tension, & heartbreak. It's kind of my thing.
