review 1: For the most part this felt like a fairly unexceptional story about a man trying to deal with the contrast between his own feelings and those of his family. The unusual and interesting addition is the fantastical plot device, in this world there is an inexplicable deluge of freezing water that will fall on anyone caught uttering a lie. This does provide a twist, since characters can no longer lie directly and even if they don't intentionally lie they can sometimes get deluged. It's a neat idea, but it's probably the only notable thing about this story.

... moreke about this premise is that the speculative element highlights a unique aspect of being human, and what I like about this story is that the characters are so real.
