review 1: This is a damn funny book, although the humor tends to be pretty highbrow and I can see how it definitely isn't for everyone. The thing that makes this trilogy of books stand out in my mind is how the audiobook versions are infinitely better! Hodgman always gets a ton of cool guests to read amazingly small snippets of the book and his back and forth with his troubadour is always funny. This book specifically had a bunch of awesome extras, including a long discussion with Ricky Gervaise tentatively where her reads the recommended blurbs from the back, but mostly where they talk about how Hodgman looks like a giant baby. After that is the mind blowing live reading of the 700 molemen names section of the book which was far far funnier than the previous 500 hobo names. Th... moree live performance alone makes the audiobook worth getting.
review 2: A follow up to "Areas of My Expertise" this book is a humourous book for people with OCD and people who like a lot of made up facts presented to them in hilarious ways. I say OCD because there is just so much stuff in this book. Added on top of that, John decided to make it 365 pages so he could have a tiny insert on every page about "this day in history". While not every bit in the book works (I'm looking at you Mole-manic names; Hobo names = funny, mole manic names = tedious page filler) the truth is there is more funny packed into this book than your average five other books on humour. John is witty and smart and challenges his readers - there is so much to love in this book. Some of my favourite moments are when he inserts a real story from his life (I assume they are real) and gives us an insight on how odd it is that he went from being unfamous (de-famous? infamous?) in his early 30's to being famous in his late 30's. As I said, some bits don't work and maybe the book would have been strengthened by some editing down but you can always skip over the unfunny parts and a few pages later will be some more great stuff. Overall, I highly recommend this book. There are so few humour books that I think are actually funny. This is one of them. less

Quite funny, made me laugh many times. Full of sarcasm and Moleman names.
