review 1: It is difficult to review comedy books.They exist solely to entertain ALL READERS FOR ALL TIME.As far as I know, no one has ever succeeded at that. Not even Yeats.So what is there to say or think? There are some funny jokes. I laughed many times, but not all the time. Many of the lines I read left me feeling like I was reading a pun, except there wasn't wordplay.How do you rate something that like? Or evaluate it?3 stars.
review 2: I know John Hodgman as the famous minor television personality popping up on the Daily Show to instill viewers with his infinite wisdom and solutions to the world's problems. In this book he continues to take you under his wing and feed you his worldly knowledge. Read it if you have a general knowledge of historical events and facts.... more Everything I didn't know I just assumed was an absolute fact since I don't own a "Hodgman Literary Tone Detector," to distinguish otherwise. The parts about "Mole Men" were a little dry and it's general layout came seem overwhelming when you first dive into it. I mean, it's not only a book but a calendar, has it's fair share of black and white photos, tables, etc crowding the pages. VERY funny book! less
