review 1: I wasn't as imprssed by this book as I wanted to be. It had a very negative depressing undertone that had nothing to do with the subject matter (animal rights, activists, sea animals in danger, etc). I had hoped it would be more of a popular science book (with maybe a romance thrown in?) but I quickly got confused by the layout of the book. By the end I'm STILL asking who's who and questioning who's really dead and who's not. A lot of unanswered questions, but not in a good way.
review 2: The Tourist Trail was a great read. It's a story about how the natural world affects us and is affected by us. Thought-provoking and compelling.The characters were engaging. I felt for all of them -- from Ethan, the computer guy to Angela, the scientist. It had some very sad m... moreoments and some hopeful ones.I like how the author gave us different perspectives throughout the book -- sometimes we're in Robert's head; sometimes we're in Angela's, etc. It's a quick read but not a light book. If you're like me, you find yourself wondering, days after finishing the book, what the characters are doing now. less
