review 1: The Templars are popular fodder for conspiracy theories. This graphic novel adds to the mix a fun, action-filled graphic novel version, with just a touch of romance. The theme of the story is loyalty, and readers will be reminded of other male gangs who may be rough around the edges but who in the end, are the ones you want fighting on your side--such as Robin Hood and his Merry Men, The Three Musketeers, or even Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
review 2: This was excellent. ... moreracies frustrate me to say the least. Giving a nod to the actual historical representation of this much-maligned group, and presenting those events without luster or guile, Templar makes for an excellent work of historical fiction. It is fiction, as the main plot of the story is a fabrication based on some real historical figures at the time. Well done! less
