review 1: Judith Lucy,p is one hell of a funny lady. If you like your humour dry, sarcastic, sometimes caustic, but funny as a hatfull, then this is for you. She is as dry and witty in print as she is on stage, and I loved it. Definitely a laugh out loud kind of book. Even though the book is about her parents, frankly I think you learn more about Judith than them. There are things about her life I had no idea about and she is very open about it, and I think it is a real insight to who she is. There is no woe is me, or feel sorry for me, or bitterness. It just is what claims to be, a story about her parents. But told in typical Judith Lucy style. It was a crack up in places. Really enjoyed it.
review 2: It took me a while to warm to this. I find Judith Lucy's humour a bit
... more like watching Pulp Fiction. You laugh at the situations but then you wonder why you did and end up feeling slightly appalled for having done so. I realise Judith had a lot to get off her chest and in her circumstances if she didn't do stand up comedy she would probably have ended up knifing someone or drinking herself to oblivion. less

Judith Lucy's terribly sad upbringing. Too depressing to enjoy.
