review 1: I was a little skeptical about this book. Only a couple reviews on Amazon, but they were all positive so I took the leap and bought it. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked the book and the characters! Becca makes up a perfect heroine in my book. She is smart, strong, feisty and determined to keep her loved ones safe! I was a little disappointed that I could predict the storyline. Some of it was just too obvious and I wish there would have been more of a mystery there. Nonetheless I'm looking forward to the next one :)
review 2: Even though this book held my interest through most of the book, it wasn't that original or action packed. Our heroine didn't even get her "powers" 'til around the 70% mark. I like the affection between Becca and her little broth... moreer, and later the romantic interest. But for the most part it was wooden characters with the setting not standing out at all. The school was also super small, in relation of "powered" people there. Becca and her little brother were affectionate; the love interest was gooey sweet. As for the bad guy, we never saw him. less
