review 1: I enjoyed this short story; it was quite emotional & I felt a lot for both main characters. There was an element of the tragic in their situation that I found touching & sad. One character suffers anterograde amnesia, in which the sufferer can remember the past but never acquire new, lasting memories. It traps the sufferer eternally in a kind of Ground Hog's Day of reliving the same "first day of the rest of my life" again & again & would it would naturally be quite heartbreaking to fall in love with a person so afflicted, as it is in this story. This is a dystopic setting with an extreme dichotomy between the living conditions of the haves & have nots, & here was some interesting world-building around that which makes me curious to know more about this world. There ar... moree strong themes of loneliness and alienation. The only thing I would have changed is that I would have liked some insight into what caused the condition of the amnesiac character, but I believed this is explained in another book by this author, as this appears to be part of a series. So I guess I'll just have to check out the other books to find out more :-)
review 2: First off let me preface this review by saying I love a HEA....that being said, I still loved this story. The amount of angst and longing that fill this short story could give Heathcliff and Catherine a run for their money. Antho is a wonderful hero. He risks not only his job, but his life in his pursuit of having that warm body next to him......the feels brought about are almost too much, which is just right! Wonderful read! Looking forward to more! less
