review 1: I had not yet read this author before reading this book. I am glad I took the opportunity to do so. This was a very intriguing book and I loved the characters in it. Abby Fischer has lost her trust in God when he does not answer her prayers in the way she wants. I think many people can relate to the feelings Abby displays throughout the entire book. She comes upon issue after issue that make her question God and understand him even less each time. The journey she encounters in finding those answers is again one that many people would be very familiar with. I loved this story and I look forward to reading another one of her novels very soon.
review 2: I have read some amazing books in my lifetime, but this one was the first to bring tears to my eyes in over a ye... morear. A girl who has lost her faith in God goes through six months of torment cuminating in an earthquake when she must survive three horrific days. A beautifully told story that includes the historical event of the earthquake in San Francisco in 1906, a young woman's struggle with faith and a tender love story. less
