review 1: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Aretha is the beginning of Jay's story. Her parents have been murdered, her grandmother has been murdered and now strange and terrible things are happening all around her. I honestly thought this book was a dystopian but I was wrong. It started off a bit slow but picked up quickly. I ended up really enjoying this book. I will definitely continue reading the series when the remaining books are out. 4 stars.
review 2: I received a copy of this book thru a Goodreads giveaway. Overall I thought this was a great book. Good story line with lots of potential. And of course like most good stories this one just really starts to get interesting when all of a sudden it just ends leaving you w... moreishing the sequel was out already. My only complaint is that it seems a little unorganized as far as the flow of the story went. And I really didn't like not knowing her name for the first few pages and then not knowing her full name until what seemed like forever into the story. That might just be me but I like to know the main character's name more in the beginning of the book. Overall though this was thoroughly enjoyable to read. less
