review 1: It was a nice classic example of urban fantasy. No sex, but preludes to it, which is a nice start. Sadly, it uses the word "gypped" which in this day and age everyone should know is a racial slur. Otherwise, writing was decent, the characters were fine, if not particularly complex, and the world-building was just fine. Nothing that stands out as amazing but nothing that stands out as annoying or bad either - just a nice fast read of a very standard example of the genre.
review 2: I am unsure if I liked this one or not. It was a neat take on Bounty hunting and the mythology was unique and not overly built. I enjoy world building, but sometimes it goes overboard. The thing I liked the best was that we didn't get a full history of the world designed for this
... more book. It was revealed to us as needed. The part of the book that made me unsure how much I liked it was the lack of character development. I didn't think we got enough information about Maggie and she was more nerdy than hardcore bad ass. There should have been more in the relationship with Killian. Not sure if I wanted them together or not because I wasn't given enough information about him either. In the plus category was the fact that the story was well written and made me want to solve the mystery. I love a good mystery. less
