review 1: I really enjoyed reading this book. I felt like a little girl again talking about my parents and my family members. The author is telling a story about all the things she love that her mom do for her. Her mom tucks her in at night, reads her bedtime stories, brings her water, and turns off her night at light. Even though her mom does all those wonderful things, the author feels as if her mother is running her life. She goes on and explains all the horrible things her mom does like; bringing her a change of clothes at school, making her eat healthy, and kissing all on her in front of her friends. Later in the story, the author than began to realize if she runs away from her mom and her dad, then she won’t have anyone to be there for her and to do all the nice things they ... morealways do for her. So she goes to them and tells them, “I love you.” I really like this book because it reminds of how all adolescents and teenagers are towards their parents. They are at that age where they feel like their parents are running their lives, and they tend to forget all the wonderful things that their parents do for them.
review 2: I'm sure my daughter could relate to this book. Mom (and Dad, thank you very much) are trying to ruin the little girl's life by kissing her in public, not letting her eat or do what she wants, making her do her homework, etc. So the girl thinks maybe she should run away and eventually her parents would end up in jail for trying to ruin her life, but then no one would take care of the girl and she'd miss them, so things are better as they are. Pretty slim premise. The pink and green cover and funny title will make this more popular than the story will. less

I'm just thinking of the kids whose parents really are in jail...not so funny then.

Too long for storytime, but would be fun for a group of older kids - and adults!
