review 1: Feiffer, K. (2012). No Go Sleep! (p. 32). Simon & Schuster/Paula Wiseman Books.A bedtime story with a little twist. The little baby thinks about everything and anything that will scare him or stop him from falling asleep. Things varying from the trees outside, his shoes, the sun or the moon. Once the boy finds out that all those things are too tired and they also need to go to sleep, the little boy follows in their path and falls asleep as well. An activity for this book would be to create things that scare you. The branches on the trees, shoes running off, etc.
review 2: A nice unexpected direction for a bedtime story--instead of a back-and-forth between the parents and the baby, which is where I thought we were headed, we get a litany of all the things in
... morebaby's world adding their voices to the bedtime chorus. I loved the randomness of the animals and objects: sun, moon, birds, frogs, front door, car, shoes...a little child isn't necessarily putting things in the same categories that adults do yet, so I kind of like that this isn't all animals or all household objects or all people. (Also, FRONT DOOR. Why not?) As a parent who has been through her share of less-than-charming bedtimes, I especially liked the intense expression on the baby's face during his last, loud, "NO!" When kids are angry, they are REALLY ANGRY. They are NOT cute and adorable. I appreciated Feiffer's nod to this reality! less

I'd maybe think of using this for a bedtime storytime theme for toddlers/babies.
