review 1: This is actually closer to 3.5 stars for me. The things I liked about this book include her overall writing, it was, to me, superb. It flowed so wonderfully, I didn't once find myself lost or confused as to what was happening or who was saying what, it was clear and concise. The dialogue was also fabulous. Legitimately humorous and not cheesy at all. The characters in this book were fantastic, funny and endearing. They were so well written and described that I could actually vividly see them and hear them in my mind. The reasons this book did not reach 5 stars for me was that, although I liked the story it didn't come together for me in some ways. The main character, Bailey, was a little too neurotic and unnecessarily dramatic for me at times....it was annoying. Her reason... moreing for running off to Colorado in the first place seemed a little weak to me. I guess, I just didn't get it and it didn't seem reasonable to me. Finally, the ending was a bit anti-climatic. With all that said, I did enjoy the book and do not regret reading it at all. I look forward to reading Kathy Lynn Harris' next book, A Good Kind Of Knowing.
review 2: Have you ever felt like you're just not sure where your life is going, or where you belong? That's just what Kathy Lynn Harris takes on in this extremely addictive novel. She takes complexity and humor, southern charm and deep emotions, connects them all with fantastically created characters, and turns them all out in a powerful, engaging, addictive novel.Harris takes on meaning of life and what happens to some one who is struggling to find themselves and what they really want out of life. Bailey's character was me all over. I felt like Harris took me and just changed my name to Bailey on more than one occasion. Bailey's character is haunted with job issues, and a family past that she's determined to dig into. Along the way, from Texas to Colorado, Bailey encounters new people and each one has a story behind them that will hook you til the end. With each page turn, I found myself pulled further into the heart of the story. The charm, the wit, the heartache and pain, all overtook me and before I knew it, I was at the end. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Bailey, or the writing. I wanted more. There's a bit of suspenseful twists to the story that adds to the intrigue of the plot line, leaving the reader to guess what's next.I most definitely recommend this book with a high 5 Book rating and I can't wait for more from this talented author! She knows just what to throw the readers to keep them thoroughly captivated until the very last page! Well done, Ms. Harris and bring on the next! less
