review 1: Loved the plotline for this engrossing little tale. Really enjoyed the seamless psychic journeys and the subtle development of the slow bonding between the protagonist and her unwilling temporary war-time 'sister'. I'd've liked a deeper story tho and the premise could certainly have handled one. The ebook also needed another proof-reading since the missing words and mis-spellings hampered my enjoyment a bit.In all, I'd definitely recommend this for an enjoyable light reading, I couldn't put it down!
review 2: I loved this book. Kit Cavendish has been sent along with her brother to a family in North Wales during World War Two so they will be safe from the bombings in London. Kit's father is off fighting the war and her mother must stay in London to work. Kit... more is a complex character, she is physically limited yet she is spunky and has definite opinions about the residents of her new town in North Wales. She is challenged by her new physician to strengthen her body and as she begins to manage her physical handicaps she discovers that the gifts of her mind are just as great. Kit is telepathic and she gradually learns to control and use her abilities. They lead her to Henri, a Norwegian boy who is watching his town change under German occupation. Their friendship keeps them both afloat during tough times and they come to rely on each other. I loved watching Kit find her own place in the world as the story unfolded and I also loved watching her interact with the other characters and find hidden truths about her new family and herself. A great read. less
